1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

The top stitching is way too close to the edge of the collar & cuffs, imo. I like 1/4", I even have some 1/8", but those are pushing it.

: ) I think I have two like this (didn't specify; tailor came up with it), but the point of the pic was to show the fabric.

Edge stitching is a thing. I universally dislike it but I don't think it's wrong per se. The reason it stands out so much here is the more casual / textured cloth.

It's supposed to be advantageous in that it avoids the edge curling you sometimes see on shirt collars. You can stick a collar stay right to the edge, after all. I think Kabbaz has also said it "lengthens" the collar by making it look larger without actually having to add any extra material. I'll be honest and say I'm a bit more skeptical of that claim, but perhaps it can depend on the type of stitch count and fabric we're comparing this against.

Is this the nailhead Fresco from many a year ago? Looks like you got Solito to make it up.

Didn't see your comment before I posted mine, but agree. I think your post is one of the reasons for tuning into this thread (not your absolute best but quite good). I am hoping we get more of this.

poorsod, yeah, that's the cloth. Bought in 2005, made in 2010 (delivered in 2011). Lots of time in the cellar for that one.

Good find. The cloth seems quite unique.
