I do have a white tie set, both bowtie and vest, also gloves and scarf.

I inherited a full white tie ensemble and morning attire (along with a bunch of business suits) from a wealthy relative who passed on. Although I got much use from the suits, I never bothered to get the formal attire altered (I was barely 21 at the time), and eventually they fell prey to the moths.

The numbers of poal responders who won full evening dress is now approaching a number that should make a White Tie SF MeetUpâ„¢ Ball possible.

Just think of the splendor! The bromance!

Finally, the justification I've been waiting for to get my own white tie. Thank you Vox.

None of that pedestrian stuff. I need to dance the Viennese waltz somewhere.

There is already considerable waltzing at SF MeetUps...even the minuet is done.

The SF MeetUp Minuet ends with each dancer extending one foot and joining others in a circle.

Don't forget the classical musicians...

For a second I though you said classical composers.

Here they are a pretty scruffy bunch that live off communion wafers and wine while haunting the corners of under-heated churches. If you are ever in St Paul and encounter one: for the love of humanity, do not give them beer.

Okay it's funny to me.

Not quite 30 years...26-ish.

I actually wear my tails fairly often; from house parties to the opening night at the opera or symphony. Sometimes even to black tie events- especially given that anything goes these days.

I much prefer to be over dressed than underdressed.

I do. Bought mine a year and a half ago for a friend's wedding I was in. It was only marginally more expensive than renting, and fit light-years better. Haven't worn it since, but I figure it's worth keeping on hand, just in case.

Thought about wearing it to a black-tie-optional banquet a couple months ago, but decided against it. Turned out I was one of only two in black tie, so I was glad I didn't.

You looked really swell in your togs.

But wasn't it morning wear, and not white tie?
