White shirt with blue collar: Wearing in 2017/18, Yes or No?

it's a shirt style i really like, and when calling it asshole-collar i meant to humour and not to be rude

FWIW, HRH the Prince of Wales wore a shirt with an "asshole collar" at his second wedding. I always thought of them as somewhat dandified, perhaps foppish, but never as a reliable indicator of assholery (Gordon Gekko notwithstanding). In my case, though, it probably would be. Be assured, I was amused rather than offended.

I had mine made up by Mercer to wear at the wedding of my best friend's daughter a few years ago. However, the little minx has chosen to continue to live in sin with her boyfriend rather than legitimize their union, to her father's chagrin and mine (because of the shirt, in my case).

I think plain shirts are more elegant, but a winchester shirt is a nice option anyway, I don´t think is related to assholes.

The style is unrelated to sphincter size and in fact originated out of frugality. Since the collar is what wears out first on a shirt, men would take their older shirts to their tailor and have him replace the frayed collar. Of course it was impossible to match the shirting fabric, so the new collar was simply white. Some men still do this. Some of them might even be assholes but that’s optional.
