I found a nice white shirt with black buttons in a store today, what does the SF-board think about white shirts with black buttons? Only okay for a casual shirt, or maybe never okay?

I generally hate contrasting buttons. I guess they can be tolerated on a casual shirt but are a mortal sin on dress shirts.

I'm not a fan of contrasting buttons on dress or casual shirts.

I think it would look kind of cheesy, but especially in black-on-white.

Not black, but I think smoke pearl may be interesting for a casual shirt.

Just wear a tie. :p

Ask the store owner if he could put in a new set of buttons before buying. Let him/her know it's the only thing holding you back from the purchase.
