White pocket squares with colored edges

What is the general consensus on white pocket squares with colored edges, like these? (image taken from Shibumi Firenze)

Does the rule of not matching color with a plain tie color apply here? Can it be worn with odd jacket and no tie?

I have a few of these and mostly match the edge colour with something else in the outfit - maybe a colour in the tie. I have a PS with dark red edges that matches a solid dark red grenadine here:


Here’s the same suit with a different square and no tie:


No major rule breaking here - If it causes you to to agonise then just sack the whole thing off and stick with plain white linen. Otherwise have fun!

I enjoy them as well and I was curious what people here think of them. I think it's a good way to add some color.

I like your outfits and how you used the pocket square, the second fit especially!

I have one like this and like it. I generally wear mine with plainer navy suits or with a blazer and no tie in the summer.
