White leather sneakers by Adidas Originals

In the current issue of Esquire, there is made mention of (and forgive me, I cannot cite a page as my copy is at home while I am at work) "white leather sneakers by Adidas Originals" for "$85." I have searched high and low (or, rather, on Adidas' Web site) and cannot match the sneakers in the picture to any offered by Adidas.

Have any gentlemen here seen the page I have described and know the sneaker on it?

Thank you.

It's on page 61..

They look like adidas BW Army's in white.. except BW Army's only have 1 wide stripe on the sides while these have the three adidas ones. Also remind me of Sambas.

Yes, I thought they looked like Samba's too, but there's no sueded patch on the front. Very confusing.

Stan Smiths are out, there is no toe cap. It's hard (or impossible) to know the sole color, but I have the feeling its white -- the shoes look all white.

They did come out with a pair without the suede toe. It was a premium model with better leather, leather inner, and I believe perforated stripes on the side if my memories serve me correctly. Wanted to get them in Osaka during the summer but it was a tad expensive for some adidas.
I'll try to find a picture in a bit!

Would be a lot easier to identify if we had a pic/scan of the page.

Done!

Though I don't have time to mess around with this scanner and fix the dot gain, this is basically them.

^ Nope, not those. The toe stitching on the one in the magazine wraps all the way back to where the stripes begin, whereas they end at the front on the Gazelle.

Yeah, I'm guessing they're some model of Samba.

^ Again, toe stitching is off. I'm pretty sure Samba is the only model with that particular stitching pattern.

I agree. In fact, upon further study, I think they have to be some limited edition Samba as the logo on the tongue is silver. Very disappointing -- those are some fine looking sneakers. I pro ably have little chance of finding them though, if they're a Ltd. model.
