its all relative to what you want to spend.

A good white button is a staple part of ( or should be) everyones waredrobe.
Buy the best one you can with in your budget.

I would recommend

BoO oxford
RRL oxford
EG single needle work wear shirt
APC

start there if those are to expensive try polo

Polo custom fit is also a good starting point if you want something reasonably fitted but not overly tight for the average build.

It is a timeless piece but also keep in mind the lifespan is 2 maybe 3 years tops and more vulnerable still for the fact it's white. That in mind, you're going to have to work out the price/fit/longevity equation for your budget and tastes.

I ordered a couple of James Perse white oxfords; they should be here in a day or two. I'll let you know what they're like once I've tried them.

These are great; I have one in white and one in purple stripe. If you want to wear them untucked you'll need to tailor the hem, though; and the thickness of the fabric + general construction makes them look a little more structured and put together even casually worn.

BoO is probably the ultimate for unstructured, casual button downs.

Has anyone else noticed how similar the RRL Oxford is to the Rugby University oxford? I bought a Rugby OCBD and had the sides taken in, now a much better fit.. but it too long to be worn untucked (and probably a little too pricey for what it is).

yes the fabrics are the same but the construction on the RRL pieces is higher quality, the fit is better and they have MOP buttons.

Interesting...

How does the fit differ, and is it much more expensive?

Oh, and that all-important small detail, how's the collar roll?

The collars (and their roll) are smaller and less pronounced than that of Band. They retail for around $125, and the fit is slim and slightly boxy. I own two and like them both.

Oh, I meant compared to Rugby, but thanks...

I just did a search in WAYWT for posts by you with "RRL" in the text, but nothing came up. You got any fit pics on hand?

If not, the collars aren't as tiny as those Fred Perry microcollars, right?
