The first one's too sporty for a leather band.
i don't think so. it's not a daytona on a leather strap by any means.
i do somewhat agree with you on the grande date being a bit busy. i actually have a dressier one, a simple breguet. i never wear it. they seem too dressy for my everyday clothes. this will be my daily wearer.

reverso. unless you have a very large wrist in which case it may look effeminate if so find a larger reverso

Get something simple and timeless"”excuse the pun"”unless you have an abundance of watches, in which case, the Reverso.

The Reverso isn't timeless? Since when?

...those watches with moon phases or WTf it is have been cheapened by many imitations and look cheesy...so the second one for sure

Keep in mind that the grande date is pretty chunky. I personally think that rectangular watches look more elegant if they are slim and low profile, like the classic reversos or the cartier tank.

Without question, the reverso. I have that watch and I love it. It's been a wonderful watch. Although you did not mention it, I recommend you consider A. Lange & Sohne Lange 1 or datograph. I know they are different price points, but they are classics as well.
