Which type of sneakers work best on a first date?

Wearing sneakers or trainers to a first date doesn't make much sense. I'd wear them at the beach perhaps although nowadays I tend to wear them as impromptu slippers in the yard for jobs.

I’d only wear sneakers in any situation if I were going somewhere good shoes would be inappropriate, but gun to my head I’d probably wear something like classic Converse. I can’t see it ever coming up, though. If I want to go casual I’ll wear suede loafers or a pair of boat shoes. Sneakers are for athletes and layabouts

Terrible question...........too much nuance comes into play. Sneakers are perfectly acceptable on a first date depending on a plethora of factors. In NYC where sneaker culture is prevalent, I wear sneakers of all types with various outfits as I choose - and females do even more.
