Hey. I'm planning on getting a pair of Asic Onitsuka Tigers, but I don't know what pair to get. I will be wearing them primarily with dark levi 514 straight jeans. The tiger's fit me really well, but I'm going to have to order them online - this is why I need your opinion (since I can't try them on).

So far I like these two, but I am DEFINITELY open to other opinions (please post links =) ).

Tai Chi: http://www.zappos.com/n/p/dp/16423344/c/742.html

Mexico 66: http://www.zappos.com/n/p/dp/1284295/c/744.html

thanks a ton!

The Mexico 66 is a pretty classic sneaker. The Tai Chi is incredibly low-profile and has basically zero-sole and will feel like you're wearing a sock, but it will fall apart relatively quickly. I'd go with the 66, but neither will really get you any 'style points' around here.

The Tiger Rug is the first one that caught my eye, and my girlfriend's eye as well. I've never worn them though so I have no idea of fit.

Isn't this the same as the other sneaker thread you posted? Hold back on the forum flooding please.

I've always thought the Mexicos looked best from Onitsuka, asides from the OK Basketball which doesn't seem to sell in America..

I got a pair of JDM (basically the same as the US M66)Mexico 66 in the white/blue/red from my girlfriend for christmas, they fit pretty nice and are comfortable to wear about. They deffinitely have more arch support than most pumas too.

I really love the Tai Chis, but they don't get as much love around here as other kicks. Do they really fall apart? I've been wearing mine all around the world's worst urban pavement and they still look fine. They are more Martial arts sneakers, though.

I guess it's down to how much walking and what kind - they are a bit thin for cold/wet/broken ground.

The Mexico 66s are the best ones out there. I have 3 pairs. I must confess that I did buy a pair of Dior runners pretty much the same profile as the Mexicos, but a little more dressy i guess for when I wear them with slacks going out.
