Definitely number one. For someone who new to ties you picked a pretty good knot and length.

Nice shirt. Nice ties. However, if the tie was any shorter, you'd look like a farmer. Not that there's anything wrong with that.

Another vote for number one here.

And great knots, but if you can tie your ties to have them fall about (looks from here) an inch lower, you'd be golden. Rule of thumb is that you want the tip to just brush the top of your belt buckle.

If 2 had some texture to it, I'd say 2 (e.g. grenadine)

As such....my vote is numero 1.

Thanks for the tips guy's - I ended up w/ number 1.
And yes I know about the lenth - I just threw them on real quick to take the photo's.

Tie number 1 is better.

Number 2 is old and conservative, boring.

Number 1 shows a bit more personality.

I've never been a fan of plain stuff, unless you're still in school.
