Which shoes with a grey linen suit?

I read these forums regularly, so I decided to ask a question. I'm getting married next month, and I still haven't decided on shoes. I'm wearing a light grey linen suit (J. Crew Ludlow, jacket pic attached) The wedding is fairly casual, and I will be the only one in a suit. We are getting married at the beach, so during the ceremony I will either be barefoot or wearing some sort of sandal/flip flop. However, for the reception we will not be on the sand. I hate the idea of wearing flip flops with a suit, so I plan to wear some sort of shoe at the reception. I'm still undecided on shoe color and whether to wear oxfords or loafers. Any thoughts? The bride's only request is no spectators or similarly "loud" shoes. Thanks.

The options are many. What shoes do you already have?

Suede has cold weather and country associations. Not appropriate for a summer linen suit. I'd say go for Some form of slip on shoes in caramel. You can use exotic leather to lush it up- crocodile or lizard. For a wedding best also to instruct your shoe maker to cut the shoe with lower outside vamp and just slightly longer than your normal length for a more elegant profile

I'm thinking walnut calf penny loafers, I'm just not seeing that sand color with the light gray.

But the question of what you own already is a good one, unless you're looking for an excuse to buy new shoes.

I like the sound of the walnut penny loafers. Spoo's shoes are pretty darn snazy, but I think walnut would just look a little nicer for his wedding.
