Which shoes should I go with for this summer?

I'm in college and where I live it gets to be about 85+ on a good day in the summertime. My current wardrobe consists of mostly flat fronted non-cargo shorts, some light khaki pants, and cheap polos and v-necks that I get a real nice Chinese lady at the tailor shop to alter to fit my body.

I am looking at shoe options from other threads and I can't decide what to do. I want to look stylish but still hold a campus look. Should I go with something like Sperry's? Or light canvas-style shoes? Or something else?

I'm in Southern California and it sounds like our summertime weather is pretty comparable. I got plenty of mileage out of a couple pairs of boat shoes last summer. One pair navy, one pair mid-brown. Both Sperry, I believe.
