Which shoes are better for Dress/Suit wear?

if I may go ahead and take a guess as to whats wrong with them...

first off, the names are atrocious. Borg? This isn't Star Trek, this is shoes.

second, they're rather pricey for being some funky looking shoes. They're awkward, clunky, etc. I would argue that while they might actually be very comfortable walking shoes (my father has a pair similiar although I think he bought them for 30 bucks), they are by no means appropriate for suit wear according to Style Forum standards (and with good reason).

Better shoes can be had for the price.

You're not getting a good reply to your question. Seriously, one wears a balmoral/oxford with a suit.

Having said that, I don't care for Pliner shoes. I think the styling is bad and the quality is terrible. I think you could do better.

Maybe I'm old fashioned, but I think you should wear laceups with a suit.

Slipons are OK for slacks, but I don't think they should be work with a suit.

OK just to give you something to think about, here are some seriously fine shoes for a suit. I would consider this type of styling before a casual shoe. Suits and casual shoes (loafers) do not go together.

I used to have a pair of the Donald Pliner Rex shoes. They do look good with a suit, but I would not recommend them. The quality is substandard. Mine got slightly wet during a sudden rain and the shoe came apart later. I took the shoe to a cobbler and had the sole reapplied; then I gave them away. The shoe has poor construction and is not worth the money. Spend your money elsewhere on a better shoe.

For the price you are going to spend on these, you can get a quality pair of AE's on ebay. Take a look there.
