Why are you seeking compliments on your choice of footwear? It seems banal and indeed stupid to me.

People like it when they get compliments. It isn't exactly a secret.

My AE walnut strands get the most compliments easily.

Oh noes! I should have slapped them for complimenting my shoes! How dare they...

Yeah, I didn't get the impression that you were upset about not getting compliments, just looking to swap stories/info.

Anyhoo, my collection consists of (all AE):

Merlot Park Aves
Walnut Jeffersons
Black Garners (single monk strap)
Saddle Brown Parliaments
Brown Kenilworths

My Jeffersons easily get the most complimented; but they all have except for the Kenilworths, interestingly (but not surprisingly, I guess) enough.

EG Inverness in brown antigue draws favorable comments. I guess no one comments because of the quality, but the last and color and style is simply very pretty

You're continually negative in so many threads, what joy do you get from insulting everyone or their purchases? It's pathetic and not what this forum is about.

Just pointing out the obvious. Besides, my comment you've quoted is neutral.

Oddly colored and ostentatiousily designed shoes stands out, draws attention, and accentuate the design. With them drawing attention, they tend to draw more compliments than others.

Actually I agree with this

Colour + not-so-ugly-looking = max compliment (at least for my case)

Majority of people at my work place can not really tell the difference between Oxford vs Derby, for them there are black shoes and there are brown shoes.

Oh absolutely, depending on the crowd but most have no idea with regards to any of the finer points or even some of themost obvious things we would notice.

JL Chapel in Dark Brown Museum for sure. There's probably a component of selection bias though because I wear them more than any other pair. Now that I have a medium grey suit I'm going to start wearing my Parisian Brown Museum Vale's more often, they should give the Dark Brown Chapel's a run for their money.
