    Hey Duderz,

I'm currently transforming my fat physique into something a bit more healthy/aesthetically appealing.

I am about 14 stone (90kg / 200lb) and 5'10" -- I used to be very muscular and quasi ripped but the last few years have taken their toll (read: loads of alcohol and rich foods), and I have gotten unacceptably heavy, though thankfully the fat is quite evenly distributed so I don't look as massive as I am.

I am currently doing British Military Fitness 4-5 times per week in Hyde Park which is a pretty heavy cardio workout with a body weight exercises built-in (burpees, pushups, squats, squat jumps, loads of abs, etc., etc.). I have already lost about a stone, but am looking to lose about 20-25 more pounds.

So to get to my point, I am looking for protein to ingest after the workout to help rebuild muscle, etc., but obviously am not doing loads of heavy weights so don't need bodybuilding grade stuff.

Any suggestions? I am going to add 2 days of gym into the mix to really get this show on the road.

    Thanks everyone

Pea protein is by far the cheapest whole protein that contains all the necessary amino acids. Much more bio-available and more easily digested/utilized than any of the protein isolates.

My recommendations for actually efficient protein powder sources are: pea protein (green, chickpea), hemp, or albumen.

I'm currently losing (roughly 2-3lbs / week) with hi protein / low carb / med fat and I would recommend ON Whey Gold Standard. Won tons of best protein awards and best deal if I look @ protein per 100g an protein per kcal :)

I'm going to make this as simple as possible. If you consuming less calories than you are burning, you will lose weight - it doesn't matter what you eat if you are under your calories. That being said, you want the weight loss to be fat, not muscle. This is where the high protein diet comes into place. At 200 lbs, shoot for about 200 grams of protein a day. Whey is very convenient to help reach these needs. I also recommend ON whey protein, it is great tasting but can tend to be on the $$ side. Hope this helps. Generally, I just buy the cheapest whey protein I can find.

I use Isopure brand since it contains pure protein, no carbs, sugar.

I use Syntha-6 and Myofusion. I have lost about 115 lbs in the last 18 months.

I'd recommend ON aswell, they taste great - But if you're not picky, then any protein should do, no?

During my cut I usually go for hemp protein, but unfortunately it's quite expensive. But worth checking out, nonetheless.

I dropped about 80lbs using this as one of my tools over a year. I've been putting lean mass on for about 3 months and still drink it after my workouts.
