Hi all, been watching this forum for some time off and on. Decided to jump in.
I have been looking for which online custom shirt maker is a good place to start. It seems to me that most of the blog type sites are paid reviews, so there is no real value to determine if makers are crap or not. Also, are most of these guys really just selling standard sizes or are they really custom made? Any suggestions of reliable, good fitting, and quality for the price? I have looked at Proper Cloth, Blank Label, iTailor ratio, J.Hilburn, Natty, and several others.
Some comments:
I typically wear a sport coat, but not always (office is more casual), never a tie, and quality wool dress pants.
My local men's shop will do bespoke, but he is out of his mind for how much a shirt like this should cost, i.e. $375.
I have a some of Charles Tyrwhitt from last season and looking for replacements. These shirts are pretty nice for the money, but I do not like that they do not have sleeve placket buttons and the cuffs are too tight for a watch. Also, the current styles are a bit blah. The rest of the shirts in my closet are higher end Nordstrom's brands and Forsyth of Canada. The local men's shop stopped carrying the Forsyth shirts that fit me pretty well.
I would like the best value, but better fitting. My opinion is that cheap fabric that fits will look far better than supper nice fabric with crap fit.
Any guidance is welcom?
Thanks,
Bill
