I don't, either. It's a look, and its far superior to the "no-look" white shirt inspector. The images in GQ are good, actually:

The thing is, he's getting press for a job that doesn't usually get press and photos: as they say in SW&D, haters gonna hate.

The pink panther proper was much better dresser, but then, he wasn't a detective.

The "Hipster Cop" is a friend of mine. I don't get the negativity from some people on here. He is one of the best dressed guys I know (he helped inspire me to clean up my ways), and he has better sartorial taste than most of the people I see on WAYWRN. Honestly, when was the last time a real police officer got national recognition for dressing well?

+1. It's just the thing people do, but I don't understand it either. It's great that there are people out there in the wild that care.

"Out there in the wild"- so, spill the beans: does he read SF?

I don't see what's so objectionable about his clothing. He's wearing stuff I've seen plenty of people here post up and get compliments. I guess the criticism comes with the territory, but in reality his dress would get props in the WAYWT.

I have no bone to pick with the man himself - please let's not be so defensive. It's just that browliners and OCBDs, quilted jackets etc are not my cup of tea at all and look like a contrived RL uniform. Haircut looks very muppety as well. Might as well call a spade a spade.

Also, how could anyone forget the confirmed SF cop that is a superb dresser, the one thats sports the fedora. If he made detective he would be a reincarnation of Bogart. I would go to NY simply to spot him in action.

There are two that I know of- Tibor is who you are referring to, but there's another guy, asian but I can't recall his handle, who at least once posted an in-uniform shot. He's fun to watch, too.
