I vote donegal. Herringbone as runner up. (Prefer monochromatic on both too)

Can't stand houndstooth, though I am mulling making a run at this Friday's contest.

This is going to sound stupid, but could somebody please define "tweed" for me?

What makes a fabric "tweed"?

Using this poll as an example, what is the difference between a woven fabric with a houndstooth pattern and a houndstooth tweed?

Houndstooth is nice in the right colors. Barleycorn's OK -- has its uses, but not very exciting.

Don't really dig herringbone.

Tweed = rough wool fiber usually grown in the British isles http://www.valetmag.com/style/profil...eed-090810.php

herringbone is good in the right application and more versatile than houndstooth.

They're pretty similar. Though the donegal pic below has lichen dyed yarn dots.
