I have a nice $800+ gift card and I would like to add to the shoe collection. I called Chicago (Michigan Avenue) and all they carried was: Gucci, Prada, A. Testoni, Zegna and his brother Ferragamo.

Any suggestions are much appreciated.

i always found the NM in beverly hills to have a good selection of shoes but i havent been there of late.

i found NM progressively getting worse in their shoe selection over time. same with nordstrom.

most NM are just relegated to the standard gucci, prada, ferragamo stuff. some carry lobb and mantellassi but only a few models . you can perhaps order anything you want from any NM anyways.

I didn't think anyone on this forum paid full retail for anything.

NM in Oakbrook, IL carries John Lobb and some other brands. The Michigan Ave. store doesn't have as much as it used to.

I agree with NM in Oakbrook. The NM Michigan Avenue collection is very limited.

The NM in Tysons Corner tends to carry a decent collection.

I've only been to Bay Area and Dallas NM. San Francisco had the most, Lobb, Kiton, Tramezza, Testoni, Barker Black, NDC, Paul Smith, and the usual other suspects.

Edit: I forgot, I have been to St. Petersburg FL and Scottsdale AZ Neimans as well. SF is still tops...

Of the stores I've visited more than once:

San Fran > Chicago Oakbrook > Detroit > Chicago Michigan Ave

I've been to NM Bal Harbour a few times, but I can't recall what their shoe selection was like. Perhaps that is telling.

Certainly NOT the NM in Minneapolis... it's like some bargain-basement department store... except everythign costs $4000.

Detroit (Troy) has 95% Prada and Gucci
