Which jeans should I travel in?

Going "backpacking" in europe for a month or so, I've decided only to take one pair of jeans, I reckon they'll get a good amount of wear, probably equivalent of 3-4 months in regular day usage, but with beaches, sitting on concrete etc etc, sped up process.

So, I have a number of candidates that are all essentially raw and waiting to be broken in. Which should I take?

p.s. I'm aware of the absurdness of this question, just thought it would be a humorous poll. Feel free to list reasons why, I obviously provided absolutely no info about how each fits etc etc.

I'd go with the Lee 101b, prolly the roomiest of that bunch. I wouldnt want to wear fitted jeans while traveling under those conditions.

PC NS - you don't have to wear them supertight. Wear them normal or slightly loose (i.e. you should be able to button up on first wear, but have no space at the waist). They wear in well, are relatively cheap, are relatively lightweight (a really tight woven 12 ounces) yet wear as hard as iron.

Oh, I should have added, I already have all of these jeans, just choosing which ones get to see the world.

One pair of jeans... and another pair of pants, at least? One pair of pants isn't enough for backpacking to school, let alone Europe. Be wary.

I don't know if you've got all this figured out yet, but here's my insight as a former backpacker:

Shorts are a decent idea, but when I was there (in Summer) it didn't really get hot enough to wear them (different climate and such). I guarantee you'll be buying another pair of pants there if you only bring one pair (your primary pair will get soaked, ripped, vomited on, etc.) I'd bring two. The last thing you want to spend money on is clothes when you can barely afford beer (food is out of the question). Wear synthetic tops (Underarmor-type dealies). You can wash them in the sink and they'll dry quickly, so you only need two or three. Bring a few sets of insoles.

SD-103s. I have a pair myself, and they're acquiring creases and whatnot much faster than my Sugar Canes. The more beat up they get, the better they look.

I actually find myself looking forward to hard labor as a chance to break in my jeans

I voted for the Lees. Nothing better than a classic break-in on a classic pair of jeans.

Yeah, I think you should at least bring another pair as backup. Even if you don't intend on touching them, having them on reserve would probably be a pretty good idea.

I am fully in support of bringing another pair. ALthough a month's backpacking sounds like a delicious way to knock in a pair of pants. Where are you going in europe?

Those jeans are going to smell soooo ******* bad by the end of your backpacking trip.

I'll echo the posters who said to go with the most comfortable fitting pair.
