First, apologies for my poor shoe photography. It's tough to shoot proper shoe Appreciation when there's a plastic tie connecting the shoes.
For a while I've been looking for some casual suede ankle boots for the fall that I could wear with jeans and maybe the occasional chino.
I stopped by FB today and managed to find some pretty good deals. First, a pair of Lidfort for Barneys leather-soled boots in a light brown color. They appear to be goodyear welted, although I'm not sure, and the tag said they retailed for $1059, although that sounds quite overpriced to me. They fit my feet like a glove.
Originally they had no price tag so I walked to the desk where they paged a manager who informed me that they cost $100.
Next I came accross a pair of Sutor Mantellasi boots in a dark chocolate brown color. They have a rubber sole and I'm guessing they are blake-stitched underneath the rubber. They are a little roomy and maybe a half size too big, but not too bad. Retail was $350 on these and I paid $150.
So here's my dilemma. The Sutor's are a nice, conservative boot and will go with almost anything. On the other hand, the Lidfort boots are less expensive, fit better, and appear to have better construction, but are a bit more fashion forward and likely won't match with as many things.
Which pair should I keep?!?!
