If you don't already have a camel hair overcoat, get that one.

the camel looks ill fitting on the model...that can't be good.

I'd say the tweed is more versatile.

I recently started wearing a herringbone tweed overcoat again, and I'm loving it.

The tweed was on sale in B&S for a while in the low 200s, and is now on eBay. Do a search for Balmacaan. IIRC it was a size 40, but they run large.

literasyme is referring to this tweed coat that I still have for sale - although a lot of interest here and on ebay, it has not sold yet. Starting price on ebay was $219 + $12 shipping CONUS. Got a number of international inquiries, but considering additional shipping costs, the sale hasn't happened.

You can also see this coat (same as what you see on BB website) here:

I have not yet relisted it on ebay and may re-up it here - PM me if you are interested.

Check out "hickey top coat" on amazon. I just bought one for 297 from 1295 retail. It comes from hickey freeman

I'd go with the camel. Both are great coats, but the camel topcoat is more of a staple, at least IMO.

The tweed. If it's sewn properly, it will last you a lifetime. Brooks' Italian stuff is usually quite good now.
