Which are the best brands for Leather Belts?

Equus belts are fantastic, and I own three of them myself. But I feel the thick bridle leather they use is a bit too rustic for suits. I pair their belts with jeans, odd trousers, and the occasional heavy winter suit.

Would also recommend RLPL belts. Their made in Italy belts are some of the best I've owned. Not sure who makes them. Added plus is that they're offered in colors that are ordinarily hard to find in belts: light tans and mochas, etc. These are the belts I reach for when I need to approximate the hue on my lighter toned shoes.

agreed about the thick leather. i only own the casual belts but perhaps the lined and raised belt could be more appropriate?

Yes great belts. I also have three. I would not describe the bridle leather as 'rustic' though. It is fine with suits and formal trousers. Sedgewick leather is absolute top quality

I have had this same experience. Also the leather is a bit stiff.

I have a wallet from Tanner Goods, quality is nice so I am assuming that their belts would just be as nice.

For a casual belt, or jeans type belts I can find no better than Orion Belts. They are top grain made in the USA. I really like the Show Harness leather. The black ones are fine but they really excel in browns. Prices are quite reasonable too.

I had belts from Polo Ralph Lauren (OK, but not great) and Hugo Boss (waste of money)

How well did your Polo belt hold up? I recently bought a Polo belt, so I am curious. Are they corrected-grain leather?

Practically, they are a bit heavy to wear as a dress belt. You definitely know you are wearing it. Great for jeans and boots.
