if i had to pick one i'd pick the second one, but i personally do not like any of those.

Yeah, go for a blucher. Bals can work with jeans too, but only if they are weathered or have some other casual detail, IMO (like PS Starrs for example). I like the second one.

#2 of that lot, but track down some Florsheim Kenmoors on ebay (or AE McNeils, etc.). The PRL are great, too, if you've got the cash.

The thick (double?) sole makes the shoe a little chunkier and casual and thus perfect for jeans.

I have some RLPL bals that I wear with jeans, but they are a lot more casual looking than those AEs. I think a pair of Paul Smiths would be a much better investment to wear with jeans.

The Marlows/Darltons really are pretty much ideal.

EDIT: The Ash, also on Shoebacca, is the same last, with a plain toe and a pebble-grain finish. It's $260 or so. Also a nice, chunky, double-soled blucher for jeans.
