Where to Purchase RLBL / Ralph Lauren Black Label

I recently participated in another thread and was recommended the RLBL as a good suit to purchase. I am in Orlando and while I've never sought out the RLBL label, I wouldnt know where to purchase the suit. There are several models available online on the RL website, but I'd like to try the suit on to ensure a good fit. Can anyone provide suggestions where the suit is sold, or in the alternative, suggest other suits with a similar fit & design.

Thanks in advance,

Black Label suits are pretty slim fitting (snugger around the chest, more tapered waist and narrower trousers). A lot of people here have to size up to make it fit myself included (i.e. I'm a 40 in Purple Label but a 42 in Black) so it's wise to try one on first. You can use the search function and find tons of suggestions on slimmer suits. Try any better department or men's store in Orlando plus there must be a ton of outlet stores so even if the suit is brown with a green pinstripe you can still see what fits well. Best advice is to try on everything to determine what fits you best.

Can anyone give more information on RLPL/RLBL cuts?I've tried RLPL at the store, salesman said it was Savile Row cut,fit was pretty good, but price was kind of steep.I hope I can get it cheaper but would like to know other cuts and differences among them.

How many fricking threads can people make every month on how black label fits or where it's sold? It is making me hate black label and anything "slim".

I don't get why so many people need to size up. I wear RLPL 42R and RLBL 42R fits me exactly fine and 44R BL fits me like a bag; perhaps 43R would be better. It's true that RLBL fits closer to the body than RLPL.

IME, RLBL has much more structured/padded shoulders, cuts wider at shoulder but narrow chest and waist, with button stance low and slightly cluttered.

RLPL has relatively more natural shoulders, cuts fuller at chest with neutral button stance; waist suppression is a bit stronger vs. RLBL.

Can't say much about pants because I don't have tight asses to hold up the buttock curvature of the pants.

And yes, it's best to visit your local RL store to gauge your exact size. Last thing you want to do is listen to people online with different body shape that yours, claiming that sizing up/down is necessary.

Thanks for the information; the Polo outlets in Orlando do not sell black or purple label. They said that they'll get an item occasionally, but my best bet is to check the Sawgrass Mills location - in South Florida.

Apologies to those that I may have offended by inquiries into the "cut" and fit of the suit; there is an abundance of material on this forum that has been incredibly helpful, and I didnt mean to circumvent proper research by this thread.

This doesn't really surprise me. Outlet stock on the desirable stuff is always going to be limited. If you're close, though, it might still be worth a stop by. Sometimes there's a spectacular bargain waiting on the sale rack. Recently there was a run on a new Polo outlet where many forumites picked up PL and Black Label suits for less than $500.

Sawgrass has their upper end store, but the manager told me last time I was visiting the store was going to be converted to all women's apparel. There are 2 in the same mall.

I think you're referring to the Ralph Lauren Outlet in Woodbury. That isn't a Polo outlet.

How do you prefer trousers to be finished?

  • Plain hem

  • Cuffed (1.5 inches or less)

  • Cuffed (more than 1.5 inches)

  • No preference, as long as the proportions work
