where to pin boutonniere, no button hole? URGENT!!!

where do i pin a boutonniere, my tux has no button hole! This is for prom! Would it be a bad idea to just pin it through the lapel even there is no hole?

i'm not too sure but i wouldn't fancy the idea of leaving a permanent hole by piercing the fabric and the fusing in the lapel...

Just leave the tux in peace unless it is a disposable item

Either:

Have your tailor create one for you if you own the garment or

Do without.

It is frankly a mark of affectation in one so young (adults wear one so rarely) and no one will be concerned if you are without.

Pin it through the lapel. assuming it's a dark tux, and a rental, the pin hole will not be visible. There's probably already a pin hole there if it is a rental.
