we enjoyed comander's palace. we had lunch there, and then took a walk in the neighood.

we really enjoyed the creole creamery - I am sorry we didn't get there more times. I can't recomend it enough http://www.creolecreamery.com/

we had a very enjoyable meal at Emiril's delmonico

not a meal, but I recomend that you hit the WWII museum

Verti Marte on Royal St. The Po' Boys are off the chain. Anything off the menu at Camellia Grill on Carrollton Ave. The burgers are especially good. Go to d.b.a. on Frenchman St. It's a nice joint that often has some great local bands playing.

Camellia Grill can be a fun spot to hang out late at night. I've been there many times. But the food is no different than a diner in any town.

Mandina's. 3800 Canal St. Take the street car out Canal Street away from the river. Old school local type place. We like it for lunch.

For po boys, try johnny's in the quarter...or there is a deli on st charles near napoleon that makes delicious ones also
