i finally got a good pair of shoes, now i need a pair of shoe trees.

I checked out ebay and it is a mess, so many options to choose from and I don't know what is good.

does anyone have a seller that they recommend? I am looking for a pair of cedar (does it have to be cedar, or will any type of wood will do?) shoe trees, for a good price (what kind of prices can I expect?), shipped to canada.

pretty sure theres an SF affiliate that sells them...cant recall the name though. I typically buy all my trees at dillards. all cedar and cost $20 a pair.

Id definitely get cedar.

Cedarville: http://www.cedarvillestore.com/

Do a search, they just had a coupon for SF users.

Cedarville Store? Nordstrom Rack also will carry them (cedar) for like ~$13 a piece. I don't know why cedar is a good material for a shoe tree, but I like the way it smells, so I haven't ever bothered to look into it.

I've heard that it's mildly anti-bacterial (i.e. will kill off stink-causing bacteria), but who knows how accurate that is. I'm with you, I mostly like the way it smells

I buy mine from Cederville, they have a good price and when he has coupons it is even better. The only other source I use is whoever I do special orders of for my Aldens.

Don't go to Harry Rosen, they are $40 each ("but they come with a lifetime mechanical warranty").

I purchased some Nordstrom acouple of years ago, but now only use them for my casual shoes. There are much better options out there.

I personally like the BB brass ones and usually pick them up whenever there is a sale.

To answer an eariler question, cedar absorbs moisture and helps wick away the sweat from the leather.

I got some cheap ones from DSW for about $15 and I got a pair from Brooks Brothers for $25 for my AE's.

Epic Woodlores are great. I think Cedarville has them and Costco had re-badged ones dirt cheap awhile ago. They were all over Ebay.
