Hi all,
I'm in need of a first suit - well not really my first, I do have a suit I bought from JC Penny's when I graduated high school but it's polyester, double breasted, and more than ten years old so let's not go there.
I have a pretty good idea what I'm looking for - something charcoal gray, single breasted, 2 or 3 buttons, notched lapels, and probably single vented in the back. Wool obviously, maybe 100 or 110 or so given the heat here in FL.
I can't recall my measurements but I'm a slender athletic build and fairly tall, 6ft and 175lbs. I'd like to go a step above the usual junk in Men's Warehouse but don't want to break the bank. I'm thinking something in the $300-$400 range (including tailoring if necessary/recommended).
Should I look for a local store or chain or is everyone buying suits online now?
I think I know what I want I just don't know where to look - and I'd like a place without high pressure sales tactics and know-nothing salesmen. I have time to go thrift shopping but I don't think I could tell a good suit (or proper fit) from bad to save my life.
Thanks for your advice!
