I hope I have posted in the right place. I have been searching high and low for a waistcoat in a similar style to the one below. I cannot find anything even remotely similar. Having been a long time lurker here I thought I would join up and see if you guys know anywhere online which would sell one. Where in central London could I go to find a similar style waistcoat? As a last resort I would go to Savile Row in London and get one made.
Thanks.

Good luck, I have been looking for a waistcoat for a couple of months now. In EVERY men's store I have entered and asked, the response I get is "What is a waistcoat?" After explaining it to them, 50% of the time I get "No" the other 50% I get "I have been in menswear for [fill in years], I never knew it was called that, are you sure?"

I have given up this season.

p.s. The reason I was looking for one is that I have added bow ties to my wardrobe and think they look particularly smart with a waist coat.

If he's in America then 'vest' is the more common term than waistcoat, though I would still expect most people to know what a waistcoat is.

This waistcoat looks like something Ralph Lauren might sell, though I can't find anything similar on their website. I'm sure any MTM place could make one as well, such as Bookster who specialise in tweeds; they have a couple of fabrics that look like they would do the job:

To the OP- I saw a lapelled waistcoat in almost this exact fabric in Taylor Richards & Conger, in Charlotte NC today. In fact I almost bought it for myself. I don't recall the maker's name, but it was tagged "Made in New England", so made in the US somewhere. If you have any interest, they would be worth contacting.

I don't know if they're still available or not, but threedifferent.com had many Boglioli vests this winter, most of which got marked down to $40. Lots of double-breasted ones. Might be worth a look, but I don't recall seeing any single-breasted in the fabric you show.
