I don't own one, but I know Brooks Brothers makes an alligator belt (or crocodile?). Their cheap belts suck, but their expensive belts last. I have their shell belt, which I wore almost everyday for a year, and it's held up perfectly. All their stuff is heavily discounted right now. I got their $1400 briefcase a couple months ago for like $600.

I don't own one, but I know Brooks Brothers makes an alligator belt (or crocodile?). Their cheap belts suck, but their expensive belts last. I have their shell belt, which I wore almost everyday for a year, and it's held up perfectly. All their stuff is heavily discounted right now. I Like Brooks brothers, but it seems Like Big names Like Brioni, Kiton, Brooks Brothers and so on overprice their things because they have the name for it.

I Like Brooks brothers, but it seems Like Big names Like Brioni, Kiton, Brooks Brothers and so on overprice their things because they have the name for it.

That's a multi piece belt... They're using 2 or 3 smaller skins to make the full length. I personally am not bothered by that, as most shell belts not costing stupid money are, but you should be aware.
I got a hornback belt from Allen Edmonds that is a single piece. They are out of those, but they do still have some gator belts.

i am wondering whats Best, what Should i watch out for?
does it break faster?
Does it affect build quality?
What does Hermés Do as an example, multiple or single Cut?
What Should i be Aware of? I want a High quality belt.

I did also look at the alligator belt allenedmonds for sale, but i dont Like the look of it to be completely honest. I Do Like Allen edmonds tho.
The reason why i’m considering this too (the bullhidebelts one) is because it’s cheap, i live in the EU and import charges, taxes and so on is VERY pricey because i’m ordering from USA.

"NOTE: There are normally 2-3 seams "splices" on average per belt so we can get the length. A good splicing job is number one to make sure we make a great looking belt."

I have several thoughts on this:
1. It makes an aesthetic impact. It's up to you if it bothers you. It doesn't for me on shell, and honestly my belt loops make it less noticable. I think it would be more noticable on exotic leathers since the pattern is more prominent and would need more care in matching.

Pretty easy with a solid, but think about 3 different patterned animals potentially being stitched together. Hopefully at their price they take some care. My belt from AE is single piece and was less expensive, on sale at least. I think they retailed for closer to $500.
2. I would suspect it would stretch a bit less over time than single piece, since there's interment stitching down length.
3. Since they are making concessions by splicing skins, are they also using thinner less durable skins? Can't tell without inspecting. They do at least say they use American Alligator, which as I recall is a good leather.
4. I'm leery of any company spitting the whole "we're passing the savings on to you!" Direct to consumer speil. Especially the artificial mark down from $799... They're a $250 belt, period. Usually they're cutting build or material quality to hit that lower price point. Certainly aren't spending money on that website.
5. Alligator is a very durable leather, and well cared for will outlast any calf belt. Probably even if it is a bit thinner, it does at least have skirting (assumed top grain) as backing for strength.
6. Looking at some forums, the gun guys seem to like bullhide belts for holsters/belts. At least they are showing positive reviews off site.

I think if you're looking for a reasonably priced gator belt this will probably work. Otherwise, you might keep your eye out for thrift store or auction finds of vintage belts. That would also reduce the number of animals used for skins, since I don't think the Gators are used for anything but skins (unlike cows and horses).

More natural, rustic. Brooks Brothers and other brands like that definitely look "dressier" because of glazing. Up to personal preference, really.
