ok, i'll make a suggestion or two-- but, if you buy a black suit you gotta wear it with a tv-fold linen pocketsquare. deal?

What size are you? i can keep looking. if you're a 40 regular, look no futher-- whether this one is in your budget or not, i think it is just the ticket!

no doubt, THAT is the black suit to own! very cool. someone should buy that suit, if not the orginal poster of this thread.

if you're looking for more of an extreme-brit look, this one might be for you:

of course, if you're looking to spend more serious money on a black suit, and want The Black Suit, which will undoubtedly draw compliments from attractive women in cities nationwide, then I suppose this is that suit, size 42reg. i think the trousers are pleated, though.

^ thanks looks like Etro's are the thing to buy. Ive seen it mentioned alot on this forum. Unfortunately, size 40 is a bit big for me. I need a 38. the Brit look may fit since i think brit clothes runs smaller...

be sure to check the suits (many of them are on sale) at www.hickeyfreeman.com if you're lucky, you'll find one with a double (or single is good too) vented jacket, and flat front trousers. i think that's probably the look you're going for.

another popular resource is www.sierratradingpost.com

the suit selection is usually very good-- it is a little limited at the moment. They have good brands like corneliani, isaia, and a few others. they recently had a killer black pinstriped suit by corneliani on the site, which a forum member purchased. i thought it looked great, and would (in my opinion) look much better than a solid black suit when worn with a white shirt, white pocket square, and solid black or a grey solid necktie.

Someone posted this on the forum earlier and it apparently speaks volumes about Boateng that this suit is 100% synthetic. I believe it has been said that black polyester should be avoided more than polyester of any other colour. Given the uses of a black suit, if you really want one your best bets are probably H&M or Thick as Thieves.

skip black, go for midnight blue. In most lighting conditions, true black wool looks greenish. Midnight blue is as black as can be, it could be none more black.

Any black'll be useless for work and interviews, though. Strictly for nights out.

The Boateng suit you mention has sold today. I can acquire other Boateng suits (100% wool ;-) if anybody has a preference for them. John.

A basic statement on behalf of SF . . . . DID ANYONE PASS AWAY, "NO", THEN WHY?

Another basic statement for interviews . . . DON'T DO IT!

Go for chacoals and navys . . . . Please?
