Im moving pretty firmly towards the dreaded "grown up" look. Jeans/chinos, tucked in bd shirt, sports jacket, english shoes. I however also do the faded jeans and chambray thing, so perhaps Im still in the safe zone. Also fewer accessories than ever...

All in all, academia/trad with a bit of 2009 workwear hipster flava.

pretty much same actually. would like to start experimenting with dark, subtly patterned shirting, often under rustic, darker shaded knits. a lot of black and grey wool trousers, no more sneaks, all well-worn laceups and boots

There are really two ways I want to go right now, honestly I'm torn, I'll be all up on one thing for a few weeks and then rapidly and entirely transition to the other, back and forth ad inf. Either the crisp, clean beatle boots/cords or trousers/button down/sportcoat/scarf thing with lots of brown/burgundy/caramel leather accents or the basic beat-up CP/raws/t-shirt thing with lots of black and maybe a leather on top. I don't know, I feel like I could probably do the second one cheaper since I already have some of it and it's easier to just grab a bunch of AA instead of trying to figure out button-down sizing online. It's just that I think I look better in tailored stuff (it doesn't hurt to have an extra 1.5 inches of heel and a prosthetic chest made of scarf), and it's closer to how I want to dress when I'm out of school.

    Whatever. I don't know. We'll see.

Pretty generic look. Actually a little depressing when I think about it. Raw jeans/chinos, oxford shirts, v neck sweaters + cardigans, etc. Once I have a decent quality collection of basics, I will branch out a little bit with some adventrous pieces. I like plaid and pieces that are a little "technical", so that will be the direction I head in once I have the basics. My thinking on clothes though is to try to buy pieces that will be safe enough that I won't regret them after a year or so.

Have a pair of White's Semi-Dress coming, basically treating myself to a fancy version of black Doc 1460s, my boot of choice since high school.

    Same old repro/heritage denim.

Still have an issue finding shirts I like. Not a fan of the chambray/jeans Texas Tuxedo look, can't layer or wear sweaters 10 months out of the year (yay Texas). Mostly want gray and earthtone solid color shirts that aren't overly-preppy-looking oxfords, surprisingly hard to find. I wish LL Bean or Land's End or someone could make safari-style shirts that weren't butt ugly.

Go to jacket is still the unlined Dickies Eisenhower. It's rare that I need anything heavier than that.

Getting dressier. I feel like a sloppy bum in anything without a collar in the city now. I want to incorporate more color and more investment pieces. Purchases have been mediocre and boring lately and its time to step it up.

    dressy casual

I'm going for a mellow, fellow, kind of understated minimalist mood.

Lol no but really I'm going for color, texture, dress-up/dress-down, rugged, elegant. I guess it depends on what I'm feelin' at the time. I have brogues and sneakers... and wear them both frequently.
