Hey, So about a year ago, flipping through a GQ, I believe, I came across this Zegna ad and saw a great looking pair of eyeglasses. I usually don't get excited over them... have a pair of old Oakley frames and a recent conversion of Rayban Wayfarers into RX that I'm not all that happy with... but these looked sharp:

I did a bit of research.. and it seems they were introduced last year (2010), but this website www.giarre.com seems to have them listed as 2011 eyewear. Looks like the models are: VZ3579M

Other colors: http://www.giarre.com/glasses/ermene...el-vz3579m.php and VZ3191

Other colors, but I'm leaning towards the Brown: http://www.giarre.com/glasses/ermene...del-vz3191.php So you may be asking, whats the point? Well Ebay searches have turned up cold, as well as googling. And it seems I will have to buy these almost new/retail at around ~$250 USD which doesn't bother me so much... but I'm very picky with eyewear and would like to try these on. It just so happens I have the good fortune of working out in Northern Italy a short train-ride away from Milan quite often, so today I figured I'd take a trip in. I visited the Ermenegildo Zegna store in the Via Monte Napoleone shopping district of Milan as well as the La Rinascente Shopping mall which carries Zegna. I figured, hell if Milan doesn't carry these.. who will? The Monte Napoleone store was very nice, but they had everything BUT eyewear in stock. I live very close to NYC, will I have any more luck at the store on Madison Ave? I would REALLY like to see these in real life but it seems like they are near impossible to find a store that stocks Zegna Eyeglass frames. Who can point me in the right direction! Thanks!

I know telephone calls (the type where you have to talk to people

) is considered old-fashioned, but couldn't you just call the Zegna store and find out?

BTW, that's a nice pair of frames. I have a similar shaped pair purchased over 10 years ago. Classic looking.

Hahah yes that's on the agenda. I guess what I was asking was if there was some other location/store that would stock Zegna frames (of which I am not aware of)

Why not just order the glasses and return them if they don't work out?

This is the gameplan if the NYC store doesn't work out. But unfortunately they must be shipped internationally to the US from the only website I can find, and must be returned internationally as well. It'll be a little pricier and time-consuming than if I could find them somewhere in person

Go to the Zegna website and email them. Soon enough they'll get back to you.

I wonder if they licenced the name to somebody else.

I haven't been in there recently, but I know that as of last year anyway, the madison ave store didn't carry the prescription frames, only sunglasses.

I figured this was probably the case if the Zegna store in Milan didn't carry them either. Nonetheless, I will call them when I'm back in the states. Thanks for the suggestion also to the above poster, I will email Zegna and see what I can't find out from them.

In the mean time, anybody know of any boutiques, optical stores in NYC that might stock Zegna?
