Hey,

As the title says I am in the market for 2-3 suits. I want them to be fully canvassed and in between 1000-1500$ each around the SF bay area. I am 6"2 and about 200 pounds. I would describe my body as athletic.

Thanks.

Haha, well my girlfriend definitely thinks so. On a scale of one to Somalian, I would say I am an 6-7.

How soon do you need them? If these are long term purchases and you can afford to wait a while, then the best option would probably be to do a quasi-MTM operation like Kent Wang (a forum affiliate). I'm getting my first KW suit next week. The basic process is: he sends you a trial suit in the size that seems closest to your proportions, you send back pictures and decide on alterations on the measurements (with a lot of alterations possible, including sleeve width/rotation, chest, waist, length, shoulders, etc.), and then his operation makes a custom suit to those measurements that you receive roughly a month later. All told the process will probably take somewhere around 6 weeks, but if you look in the affiliate thread for pictures, other members' results have been pretty fantastic.

I am willing to wait as long as possible. These are going to be long term purchases. KW seemed like a great option are there any others out there like RL black or other tailors.

But would others describe your body as athletic?
LOL! I can remember a guy started a thread asking for advice about brands of shirts, and he described himself as "athletic." The thread turned into a free-for-all for several pages because he had boobs that would make a popstar jealous and lovehandles to boot. Sometimes the pettiness on this site is hilarious.

I remember that thread quite well. (I'm older than my join date would appear...)

If you're not experienced, I would get a cheaper RTW suit from Brooks Brothers.

Spoon tailor and Andreas Gorges are two local tailors who do Bespoke in San Francisco for around that price.
