I order them from Pediwear. Yes, one could walk into a store, but they are almost twice the price.

I love going into the C&J store in T&A. The woman who works there is just so knowledgeable and courteous. Unfortunately, I really can't afford to pay $750 for handgrades right now but I brought in a friend who made some purchases.

That's false, actually. Many of the BS handgrades are still around $650, which was why I was surprised that T&A would be charging more. The Weymouth and that monk are higher than the rest, IIRC.

For any curious Canadians, one of the few sources I've seen for C&J locally is asking almost $1K for handgrades (I believe this is the online operation of the old Sheppard Shoes store)

whoa. that shows you how ridiculous some import taxes are.

for $420ish you can order from Plal. I'd love to help businesses out in the US, but that is way too much to leave on the table.

Plal's customer service is also impeccable. I had an issue with my pair of C&Js and every email was responded to in a timely manner and a replacement pair was sent direct from the factory within a week.

To those who've order from PLAL before,

-do you get charged custom duty for buying shoes from overseas?
-do you phone call, fax, or email your order?

I emailed, and while I haven't been charged duty, it's always theoretically possible. Shyam does what he can.

email them. they will send a word document that you fill out and scan or fax.

i was not charged a tax.
