I lost a few of them during laundry in some of my older shirts, can I buy them anywhere?

Ask your drycleaner if s/he has extra. Mine has a drawer full of them--he pulls them out of shirts before they go to the laundry, because he says it messes up the collar when you press shirts, and then some of them he forgets to give back.

You can also buy brass ones at Kohls -- Ralph by Ralph Lauren or whatever their low end is called -- for about $5 or so.

Harry rosen sells a pack of metal collar stays for around 60$. Overpriced but meh, us in Canada don't have that many options. Holts also sells them.

I picked up a set from Nordstrom. $25, brass, silver coated, sturdy and came in all mixed sizes. I'm satisfied

Or you could trace one onto a cereal box and cut it out and stick it in. Whatever. It's a stiffener for Christ's sake, nobody sees it; don't worry about it.

In a pinch, a popsicle stick cut in half will usually do the trick.
