I have done a quick search on the forum and can't find anywhere that offers over the calf socks w/ stripes, argyle, etc (anything other than solids). Any recommendations? Thanks!

Not really sure about something that comes up over the calf but i highly recommend J. Crew socks their thick and durable (had em many years) and they come in great colors and prints. Also, (its embarrassing but..) i got 3 pairs for $12 at OLD NAVY and i actually really like these (esp for the price). I am a sucker for fun socks

Look at English sites. Sox Populi is great and reasonably priced, even with the weak dollar. Duchamp is superb with their styles but a little pricey and hard to find.

What about Pantherella? I've had wonderful luck with them and am hoping for a great many more for christmas. Kabbaz has some on his site. My problem with Paul Smith socks is that I keep walking through the heel on them

RJ socks are made by Pantherella, except the bespoke ones.

I second Nagrani/Ovadafut socks. The name is really dumb (I mean, really, "Ovadafut???") but they're great socks and the color schemes are interesting. They can be a fun way to spruce up an otherwise dull outfit.

Nagranis are overpriced and come only in one size. That's ridiculous. Socks are one of the cheapest items of clothing to make. The socks are colorful but they seem to lack good design.

Moreover, Nagrani is a little too pretentious with his "British gentlemen" approach. He took a page from Ralph (Lifshitz) Lauren. I don't buy from phonies (unless they are really cheap!)

He also sent me a mean PM on SF a few years ago for making fun of the Ovadafut name.

In all fairness, it's pretty hard to find sized socks nowadays, at least beyond the "Medium" and "Large" that Pantherella generally has. Pantherella still makes sized socks, but they're really hard to find. Charvet and Arnys (Gallo/Pantherella) sell them.

The most beautiful colored socks I know of are by Gallo.
