Hi everyone.

Recently moved to the USA and never had a need for a coat since I come from warm weather. Now I've been looking for a coat that fits me well, and it seems impossible to find. I am 5.5 140 slim. Any tips? what brands, what stores. I really want a nice pea coat that loooks nice on me tightly. What modification is possible to make?

Thanks. I'd apprecciate it.

It may be too long for you.

I will rather buy BrooksStormÂ

Plaid Walking Coat.
It's shame they don't have shorter overcoat...(then it won't be called overcoat, I guess)

In a way you're right. By design it's supposed to be a shorter version of a topcoat (three-quarter length coat, I think it's called), but on me it fits like a standard length topcoat, which is why I picked it up.

At your height/weight, JCrew's peacoat in S or possibly XS should work; Banana Republic also has some military-inspired wool coats like the one you posted. You might have better luck online than in a local store. You can also try Sterlingwear in Boston, which makes peacoats for the navy and has small, short sizes available.

I'm about your height and weight. Try Uniqlo XS (UK and I think US) or S (Japan). I recently got a few cotton peacoats that fit well only need to shorten the sleeves slightly.

Thank you..I just checked it out and even though I didn't see any peacoat I liked the item on the next link. I am wondering if the XS will fit me well. there are some brands that xs is more like an S. I have never had any experience with this brand.

Hi,

Check out the size chart at http://shop.uniqlo.com/uk/goods/066296. Unless you have very broad shoulders and large chest I would suggest XS.
