Where can an "asolaio" be found?

For certain high end suits and sports jackets, I like to have functional sleeve buttons. Where can I find a skilled button hole specialist (an "asolaio" in Italy) to make functional sleeve holes of equal quality to the jacket button holes in the front of the jacket in the U.S. (San Diego)? Is this a common request in the high end shops?

Call the best mens clothier in SD and see who they refer you to. Call around until someone tells you they'll do it by hand for at least $10/hole. Then ask to see a sample of their work. It's a common request.
