1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

Glenplaid = buzz? [IMG] Isn't that one of the most common cloth patterns? I know you've been obsessed with it for the last couple months but it's been everywhere since forever.

backlash: the days of the commerce of the 1000+ dollar shoes. G&G, Lobbs, Kitons, Scafora, Dimitri Gomez, Corthay, et al when everyone and everyone was buying them, posting them, and flaunting them and they were all at full price.

I don't remember these days. Skeptical of the black, too. [IMG]

They have gotten a bit ridiculous, especially with the runs of Ralph stuff from Woodbury showing up so much.

I'd have put Barker Black at least at saturation. Unless there's some huge clearance sale.

I've been wearing white shirts a lot recently, and have returned to knit ties over the past few weeks. I also ordered my first G&Gs a month or so back. No roped shoulders, thank you.

I don't know if the white shirt thing is true; I just said that because I'd like it to be true. But I'm glad to hear you're wearing them more.

My roped-shoulder sportcoat got a surprising amount of love last time I posted it. I imagine if someone came along with some really nice examples, he could win some converts.

I'm already on the white-shirt bandwagon. My stripes are getting ignored of late.

I wore one today with a sportcoat in today's WAYW and figured I might get called out for it. Such things are never done, I'm told.

Glad others are seeing the bright white light of the white shirt. Maybe we really can start a trend.

+1 on white shirts. I have six and laundering every weekend means lately its been plain white 3 or 4 days a week.

As an aside, I see this thread becoming a hall of famer.

i thought it was taboo on here to wear a white shirt with a sportcoat.

All things i'd never think of, and have never thought of, pre style forum.

I don't care how difficult it may be to see when wearing, but I cannot take seriously a shoe with their logo punched on it.

Wait, what the hell makes me the backlash to the backlash? I don't even know what that means.

I think that means that you're backlash to RLBL, and there are some people hating on* you for your stance, and hence going for the high buttonstance/tight arm look.

*I would never say "hating on" in real life, but i couldn't think of anything else! it's exam period. all my brain can cope with is making baked beans on toast. no time for vocabulary.

No that's not what I meant. No reference to RLBL. Simply that mafoo went through a period where many thought he was a self-absorbed, argumentative and annoying douche - he was the butt of all jokes. Then the "foofed" thread started to turn that around, and the blue tux thread sealed the deal with a clear momentum of elite SFers and n00bs coming together to praise the little guy's unwavering vision and flawless taste. That turnaround momentum is the backlash to the backlash.
