OK, sometimes I don't want to go out with my girlfriend at night. What do you say to your significant other when you don't feel like doing stuff without hurting the person's feeling?

"I'd hate to be that kind of boyfriend that drags you away from your friends, go, go out, gossip and do your girly things, have fun"

Push the right buttons, get her back to the bedroom, and afterwards say "So I guess its too late to go out now?"

Edit: Or just go anyway.

" Look, I know our relationship isn't secure enough with bieng honest with each other. I don't want to go out with you tonight so I'm gonna come up with a half ass lie to save your feelings at the expense of our trust."

Haha. This may not be the most ethical or equitable approach, but it is one I find myself taking frequently.

"I'm afraid I can't, amore... I'm feeling too discombobulated tonight...." Her English isn't good enough to understand, and she's too sensitive to ask what I mean by it.

"Honey, I'm not in the mood. Go, have fun."

Then she goes, I go make my scotch, and we're both happy.

OR you could suck it up and go anyway and see whether your mood turns.

I have the feeling too many members here don't have really open communication lines with their significant others. I was never afraid of telling my ex of 3 years that i just wasn't in the mood to go out. Either too tired from the day, have to get up early, have to work on stuff, or just plain not in the mood. Sometimes she felt the same day.

We'd either compromise and say, "ok well, since i don't really want to go out tonight, how about we make plans for wednesday to go grab some drinks or go see that movie," or what has already been said "i'm just going to stay in and veg out tonight, you should go have fun with your friends though." If you have a good relationship with and always communicate well, it shouldn't be a big deal if you occasionally don't want to go somewhere.

That's why it's often best to make plans ahead of time. That way, you not only know to expect it, but also can kind of get excited as the days count down till your night out so it seems more special. If you or her are always turning down plans and never want to do anything but sit around while the other wants to occasionally do things, then there may be some problems you'd both have to work out.

^or you're too busy with (insert video game here).

when i was single, when whoever i was dating wanted to go out, it was usually because she felt like drinking then dancing then fucking, so i always went, reluctantly or not. not letting a woman in heat go out without me.
