Do I keep this or toss it?

I bought this @15 years or so ago -- Rubinacci for Louis Boston shirt, gray end on end. Collar and cuffs are tattered and arms are blown through at the elbow. I have worn it many times with the collar and cuffs in shreds but not that the elbows are gone it may be time to go to shirt heaven.

It is a great thing to buy something you enjoy enough to really wear it out. I just hate to see it go...

You could always wear it on casual days around the house with jeans :0

Keep it, worn clothes have character.

Let your SO wear it as pajamas, it must be soft as hell by now.

Cut it off into a short sleeve shirt and wear it for painting the house or whatever.

I would wear that out of the house with boots and jeans, probably with a long sleeve t-shirt or thermal top underneath now that the elbows have gone.

I have one in similar condition. Elbows are just totally gone, cuffs and collar are ragged. I'll be damned if I'm giving it up. I love this shirt. I wear it with jeans, etc. with the sleeves rolled up. I may take it to the tailor to see if he has any suggestions for the elbows.

Keep it.

Ok -- I'm keeping it. I'll put it away for spring.

I was wearing it warmer fall days with the sleeves rolled, really liking the gray color with khakis...

Maybe we should start a tattered thread with well used shirts, shoes, suits, outerwear?

I tend to prefer things when they have been worn in with a certain patina...
