Thanks for the heads up on the Sandersons, ended up grabbing a pair b/c I love my burnished brown ones so much.

They are the higher AE line, and the equivalent of the independence collection. The Sandersons are basically refinished AE Williams, which retail for ~ $450 so there is a mark-up but not as much as you would think. Basically the leather and finish are better than standard AE"s.

RL's sale is getting pretty big now. I did some decent work today at the Ralph Lauren in Boston. Purple Label, Black Label, Polo all marked down substantially. Purple Label sport coats marked down from 4-5k to $1400. Some Polo coats marked down to $400 or less. Picked up a solid grey flannel Bradford cut suit for my dad under $500. $700 purple label pants down to $200. Polo Made in Italy pants marked down to slightly above $100. :slayer:

It all depends if they can source them around the US. It goes quickly.

Anyone pick up this Tan Windowpane Sport Coat at RL.com? It's posted at a deep 60+% off (when the extra 20% discount is applied in the cart) and I'm considering it since they only have my size left.

Anyone decide to pull the trigger? Impressions?

On an unrelated note: saw the man himself on the street today, dapper in his navy db suit (without overcoat). Pretty much like this, hair perhaps a bit more wild:

Got a mailer that 25% off starts March 30th. Did not get a pre-sale invite this time around so not sure if it's live.

As a side note, I'm glad that Ralph Lauren is sticking to the Garrison model hardcore among the trend of skinny lapels. It's really their best model both fit and style wise. :slayer:

Does PRL offer a solid navy suit with flat front pants? The SA told me no, but I find this hard to believe. Was trying on suits the other day and really liked the fit of the Polo I.

Yes. But you might have to go through their MTM program (running now, I believe) to get it. The "BSR" navy suit they have in the store and online is single vent and pleated pants this year, for some stupid reason. Last year it was dual vent and flat front pant (way better). I asked a store rep if I could still get "last year's suit" and he said the way to get it was to request those changes in a MTM basic suit.

So the answer is yes, if you know how to ask for it.

25% off sale doesn't apply to Black Label. Tried it today on a polo shirt with no luck. Think I'll wait for the next private sale.
