Each different model of red fleece chinos usually come in "slim fit" and then non-slim fit.

I have found that the only difference is the back pockets and button closure vs tab closure.

Am I missing something? seems like the actual fit is the same...

Can't imagine how slim Red Fleece Slim fit is. Their typical cut is already too slim for me.
