I'm looking to buy one or two 1818s in solid grey or navy (or both). Probably Regent fit. When is the best time for 1818s? How low can I expect them to go during the (post) Father's Day sale? Can I arrange with a SA to ensure that I can get my hands on these, since they seem to be rare in the store?

    Thanks!

I was able to get an SA at my local store to transfer a suit I needed prior to the F&F sale and hold it till the day of the sale.

Re: tailoring, I've had my local BB alter BB jackets I bought on yoox. They didn't seem to care; I offered to pay, they didn't take it. I do buy a lot of crap there

Which is BB's "slimmest" suit fit? I imagine I should avoid that one.
I think I'm a 42R, but I have traps..I take it this will be an issue?

Pretty sure from slimmest to ... um ... not slimmest it goes:

    Milano
    Regent
    Fitzgerald
    Madison

If you've got a little bit of muscle in the shoulders/back/chest region, try the Fitz and Regent to see which one fits you best. Madison will be a tent and Milano will be too slim.

So what can we expect the 1818s to go for during the semi-annual?

When I bought suits on the Boxing Day sale, most tailoring was included (sides were not).

I hope someone can confirm this, but isn't the standard discount just 30 percent? I think that's the discount at all sales other than the monster holiday season sales.

Thus, if you're buying two 1818 suits, which are 2 for $1,599, you should expect to get them for $1,119.30 (then plus tax, of course). The corporate discount applied after that would bump you down slightly below a thousand for two -- not a bad deal at all. I know some people disdain 1818 on these forums for being only half-canvassed, but by and large they are good, workhorse suits, and well worth the money.

Really? I've read from multiple long-time members that Regent is slimmer that Fitz.

Hm - if I'm wrong, sorry for the bad info.

So basically it will be $700 for a basic 1818. I think that's still a bit high for that suit. I find the Suiting Essentials very tempting.
