Several years ago Borrelli would take a second round of markdowns in late January to get rid of the odds and ends. My understanding is that in the last year or so, at the SF store, they have their 30-40% off sale, then send what's left to the NYC store.
With the economy being what it is, however, I wouldn't hesitate to ask the manager " is this your best price"?
I think every store wants to get rid of inventory.
