A pair of totally unadorned leather thongs is OK, but their application is very, very limited to BBQs and beachwear.

Those mandals you posted (e.g. anything with any kind of a weave or anything resembling a complete shoe) are hideous and should never, ever be worn. Ever.

Nothing as long as it appropriate when you do.

There is nothing wring with sandals to accompany jeans or even chinos on informal occasions. Please do not wear socks with them though.

I still can't believe so many people on this forum are actually grossed out by the sight of a human foot. That has to be the lamest thing I've ever read here.

Not the human foot on its own, but the human foot, generally sweating in the heat, sloshing about in a pair of damp sandals. To me, this is in line with the human underarm and human chest hair. OK for the beach, but not the city street.

I think sandals are okay when worn during appropriate occasions and places. However, IMO, if you wear sandals, then make sure your feet have been maintained well.

At least once a summer I will be standing in line somewhere and a female will comment on my feet, its really freaking weird and usually weirds out whoever I am with as well. I'm not giving up my Reef's though. And for those Cole Haan's, you should know that everyone is talking about your Man-dals behind your back.

This happened to me, too. I also thought it was weird.

Sandals are for women with pretty feet and children. Are you of those categories?

I have a personal mental block with sandals because I have been partly raised in a pilgrimage towns where I have encountered thousands of ghastly models of sandals...
Since my early childhood , i have been traumatized by sandals and visions of hairy feets...
Nothing fetichistic about it ,I just find them horrible..
