I was making a lesson plan for a class on finance, and I took a look at one of the PPT's another teacher had made. It was a horrible, useless PPT, but most interestingly it had this slide. First I was like WTF at the flag, and then I laughed when I notice it's a black girl the white guy is giving the hand to. LOL or WTF? Is my coworker hilarious, or a racist douchebag?

More than that, I think your coworker is a redneck moran. S/he a teacher? That brings the WTFness to another level.

I just checked the author, the PPT was made by a Chinese person who no longer works here. I'll inquire about it when I get to work.

We had a Chinese scientist use an animated GIF of a marijuana roach with a paperclip that had smoke billowing out of it for a PPT slide to represent a "smoke signal."

Hard to tell without context. Two weeks ago I would have immediately said racist, but I recently met a women wearing a rebel flag shirt who doesn't have a racist bone in her body.

I doubt a ******** would even understand the significance of a Confederate flag. Probably just an unfortunate combination.

Yeah, it's probably a coincidence, they just searched google and took some pictures.

P.S. some people would lay you out for using the word "********"

But see, I'm knowingly culturally insensitive!

I have to admit, I didn't realize what the flag was either, until a couple more poasts got made. I thought it was a Union Jack. Non-Yanks are just not sensitized to some things you guys are, and my cultural cues led me to think England right away.

I thought being a Canuck you would have the Union Jack branded somewhere on your body. Isn't it high treason for not being able to recognize your crown's flag?
